By its nature, the Master’s programme at the International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF) is an international programme, having been founded by the Higher School of Economics and the London School of Economics and Political Science. Since it was established in 2007, one of its greatest strengths has been its ability to attract talented Russian and international students alike.
HSE Extends Admissions Deadlines to Master’s Programmes
The Higher School of Economics has extended the admissions deadlines for fee-paying places on its master’s programmes until August 5th, 2015.

This year, Panagiotis Sarantidis, from Greece, graduated from HSE’s International Business programme, headed by Irina Kratko. According to Prof. Kratko, foreign students’ motivations for choosing Moscow as a place to study are quite varied. Some of them intend to connect their future career with Russia, already having ideas to establish joint ventures here. Others, for example HSE students from the United States, have previously studied the Russian language, so their interest is perhaps rooted in the country’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

Yury Gritsyuk, an MA student on the joint Business Strategies in a Global Environment programme run by HSE Perm and the University of Essex (UK) was awarded the prize as the best student on the Essex Business School programme (Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, World Economy groups).

Students on the ‘Information Security Management’ Programme Get Training in China’s Huawei
Students studying for an MA in ‘Information Security Management’, Katerina Arinarkina, Eldar Beibutov, Evgeny Gusev, Nina Osenmuk, and Aminat Tarchokova, under the supervision of teacher Petr Baranov, have completed training courses with Huawei as part of the international ‘Seeds for the Future’ programme. The two-week course focused on studying contemporary information-communication technology, the principles of protecting information while working with it, experience of ensuring information security in a corporation that has a global network of subsidiaries.
Student from Big Data Systems Master’s Programme Takes Part in IBM’s Best Student Recognition Event 2015
IBM held its annual forum, the Best Student Recognition Event, in Amsterdam on July 8-10, 2015. The IBM Corporation has been carrying out the event since 2008, bringing together some of the best students in Europe. Around 70 students attended this year’s event, including HSE student Dmitry Shostko, who studies Business Informatics in the Big Data Systems Master’s Programme. Dmitry was rated one of the top-10 students for the second semester.
