Students from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science (FCS) and Faculty of Mathematics have won six gold medals at the International Mathematics Competition for University Students (IMC). HSE students also received silver and bronze medals. One of the world’s most prestigious international university mathematics competitions, IMC 2026 was held in July–August this year in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.

HSE University and the Government of Perm Krai have signed a strategic partnership agreement. The document, signed by HSE University Rector Nikita Anisimov and Perm Krai Governor Dmitry Makhonin, defines new areas of collaboration in the creative economy, education, and human resources in Primakamye.

The 27th IEEE International Conference of Young Professionals in Electron Devices and Materials (EDM) has taken place in the Altai Republic. This year, researchers from HSE University presented the results of their research and were involved in organising a new section on artificial intelligence. A paper by HSE master’s student Rodion Sidorenko was awarded third place in the research paper competition at the conference.

In 2025, the HSE Faculty of Computer Science and the Art and Design School launched their joint bachelor's programme in Game and Digital Product Development (GDPD). This unique, interdisciplinary programme combines in-depth technical knowledge with training in design, management, marketing, and production. At the end of July the city of Sagana (Kenya) hosted the World Rafting Cup—the sport’s biggest international competition, drawing competitors from around the world. While it was the debut international tournament for HSE students, they achieved great success, with the Russian crew winning the bronze medal in the Mixed category.
