The topic of the meeting was ‘The Era of the Platform Economy: Opportunities and Prospects for Everyone.’ A thousand people gathered to listen to the speech—students, teachers, and staff not only from HSE University, but also from other universities, as well as representatives of the business community. The event was organised by the HSE Business Club.

On November 24, a unique event for HSE international students—a practice-oriented training session on ‘How to Make a Good Impression in an Interview: Non-Verbal Communication’—took place at HSE University. Natalia Trubnikova, author of the training, covered the basics of nonverbal communication and body language; non-verbal mistakes that lead to difficulties, misunderstandings and communication failures; cross-cultural features of sign language, speed and manner of gesticulation, speech features; nonverbal tips and tricks to convey your point of view, and much more. Together with the expert, HSE students worked on self-confidence and solved real communication cases.

Alexander Zayonts, Founder, President and CEO of the Hoff hypermarket chain, delivered a talk on ‘Promoting Business Under Restrictions’ as part of a series of sessions with leading Russian practicing economists and entrepreneurs. Alexander has a place on the ICEF Endowment Fund Board of Trustees. The event was moderated by HSE University President Alexander Shokhin.

On March 21, HSE University Rector Nikita Anisimov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to the Russian Federation Eduardo Villegas Mejias. The parties agreed to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of education.

In February, HSE University welcomed Kypros Giorgallis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to the Russian Federation. The Ambassador met with HSE University Vice Rector Victoria Panova to discuss ways of establishing academic links between HSE University and universities in Cyprus.
Karin Kneissl: ‘We Need a Conversation’
On 13–14 February, former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl will give a course on the history of the oil market for HSE University students. In mid-December, she talked at HSE University on 'Energy Is the Name of the Game: Geopolitics and Economics of the Energy Markets from 1911 to 2023' and spoke to the HSE News Service. In her interview, she discussed European energy policies, the problems of neutrality, the crisis of trust, and her personal experiences as a public figure in global politics. She also announced her book Requiem for Europe, which is planned to be published with HSE.
Kamchatka: Your Amazing Adventure
The photo exhibition ‘Kamchatka: Your Amazing Adventure’ was officially opened as part of the Days of Kamchatka event held by HSE University in the building on Pokrovsky Boulevard from January 19 to February 10. Visitors will learn about life in the region through photos of the unique landscapes and wildlife sanctuaries of the peninsula, the traditional Beringia dog-sled race, and the main symbols of the Kamchatka Region—brown bears, Pacific salmon, and wild reindeer.
The Financial Market in a New Environment: A Lecture by the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia
Philipp Gabunia, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia, has recently met with students of HSE University. His lecture opened a series of meetings with leading practicing economists on the development of Russia's economy in the current environment.
