The end of the year is a natural time for reflection on the past and planning for the future. With the winter holidays almost here, the HSE News Service has been asking international students to share their experiences and take stock of the year gone by. In this instalment, master’s students Raihanulla Moghmand and Isaac Sarfo talk about traditional New Year celebrations in their home countries, explain what they’ve learned from life in Russia so far, and share some warm wishes for their fellow students.

On the eve of the New Year, HSE is once again helping make the dearest wishes of less-fortunate children come true. For several years now, the New Year Tree of Wishes charitable initiative has brought together students, lecturers, and university staff who want to spread a little magic during the winter holidays.

HSE University is home to international students from all over the world, many of whom will be celebrating the New Year in Russia for the first time. HSE Instructor Designs New Year Tree for Muzeon Arts Park
On December 24, a New Year tree designed as a labyrinth was installed near the main entrance to Muzeon Arts Park. The author of the project is Alexey Ryumin, a multimedia designer and lecturer at HSE School of Design.
