Students of Parallel Degree Programme in International Relations Perform Significantly Higher than International Average on University of London Exams
The number of HSE students who successfully passed the exams conducted at the University of London in 2018 was significantly higher than the average for other universities participating in the international programme there. HSE received the status of Recognized Teaching Centre.
The English-taught Bachelor’s Programme 'HSE and University of London Parallel Degree Programme in International Relations' was launched in 2016. Following the results of the first year of study at HSE, students enroll in the University of London programme. Every year during their studies, students are required to take not only HSE exams, but also University of London exams in four core disciplines. The London exams are standard for all partner universities of the University of London that implement programmes on international relations, and they help to compare student performance across different countries.
Following the results of 2018 academic year, when HSE first passed the Annual Monitoring exercise, the pass rate of HSE students was 91%. This figure was significantly higher than the current average of 76% for all international affiliate centres of the University of London.
It is in part thanks to HSE students’ superior performance on the exams that HSE was invited to join the Teaching Centres Recognition Framework (TCRF) as a Recognised Teaching Centre. This status is assigned to a limited number of the University of London partners and is long-term. It confirms HSE's commitment to implementing the best practices in teaching, student advising, and administration.
For the 2019/2020 year, the Bachelor’s Programme 'HSE and University of London Parallel Degree Programme in International Relations' will have 170 fee-paying places and 30 fee-paying places available to international students who are accepted to the programme.
