The decision to integrate the Eurozone was taken by the Bulgarian Parliament, and the efforts of politicians and economists must be focused on making this happen smoothly and painlessly. BNB is the main leading institution in this process. Public finances must be stabilized and controlled, regardless of social spending pressures. Inside the Eurozone or outside it - discipline and control over the use of European funds and other monetary sources is a basic condition for development. The cost/benefit debate is intellectually interesting, I would take a stand on the specific arguments. However, for me it is not essential.

The lev became the euro a long time ago.
