‘All of You Carry the Name of the University’
On June 3, HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov met in Berlin with university alumni living in Germany, as well as with students and postgraduate students who are currently continuing their studies at Humboldt University. During the meeting, they discussed the development of the Higher School of Economics, differences in approaches to the educational process at universities in Russia and Germany, and the prospect for transferring certain Western practices to the realities of Russia.

people attended open lectures by Carlo Ginzburg, a distinguished Italian academic and proponent of microhistory. Ginzburg recently arrived in Moscow at the invitation of the HSE Institute for Theoretical and Historical Studies in the Humanities.

In 2015 eight graduates from the HSE Faculty of Mathematics started PhD programmes at MIT, McGill, Caltech, Pennsylvania State University and other top universities. German Scholar to Speak on Rule of Law and International Cooperation
On June 4, Prof. Dr. Mattias Kumm, Managing Head of the Rule of Law Center at WZB Berlin Social Science Center and Professor of Law at New York University, will deliver a lecture at HSE entitled ‘Liberal Constitutional Democracy 25 Years After the End of the Cold War’, which is sponsored by the HSE Faculty of Social Sciences and the ISEPR Foundation. Professor Kumm, an internationally recognized expert on globalization and the rule of law, spoke briefly with the HSE news service ahead of his lecture on Thursday.
HSE Students and Alumni in Charity Run
HSE Law Faculty alumni Oksana Akhmedova and Tatiana Zolotukhina won prizes at the annual Moscow Legal Run at VDNKh. 62 HSE students worked as volunteer organisers of the run.
Leading Companies in Search of Young Talent
Most Russian companies on the Forbes 500 list have programmes in place for managing young talent, so that they are able to develop their own managers to take leading positions within the company in the future, according to Veronica Kabalina, professor of the HSE Faculty of Management, and Maral Muratbekova-Touron (Paris) and Marion Festing (Berlin), researchers at the ESCP Europe. The findings of their study 'Young Talent Management Programs in Russian Companies and MNCs' were presented at the HSE's XVI April Conference.
