Campus News at HSE University

Some international participants of the XIII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development told us about their research and shared their views on the global economy.

On April 4^th the second plenary session of the 13^th April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development took place at the HSE Cultural Center.

On April 3^rd, 2012, Justin Yifu Lin, Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of the World Bank, gave an honorary lecture at the HSE as part of the XIII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development.

On March 13th, as part of the visit of a delegation from the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (France) (Ecole des autes études en sciences sociales, EHESS) to the HSE, a cooperation agreement was signed between the two universities.

At a recent meeting on the problems of applied research and innovative infrastructure development at the Higher School of Economics, the problems of the university’s development as a research center were considered. Leonid Gokhberg, First Vice Rector of the HSE, told us more about this issue.

A series of meetings for students and teachers as part of the lecture course on ‘European Civilizations’ is currently taking place at the HSE Nizhny Novgorod Austrian Library. On February 20^th a lecture on ‘Austria in the European Context’ was given by Ursula Maurich, Expert for bilateral cooperation at the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture.

The Preliminary programme of the XIII International Aca­demic Conference on Economic and Social Development which will take place on April 3 – 5, 2012, has been published on the HSE website. Andrey Yakovlev, Vice Rector of the HSE, told us more about the programme.
