Campus News at HSE University

On June 29^th 2012, the latest regular session of the Higher School of Economics Academic Council took place at the HSE. The agenda included information on the launch of new faculties and departments, approval of certain regulatory documents, as well as the results of the voting process for the teaching staff competition.

The laureates of the Best Article Award from the Collective Behavior and Social Movements section of the American Sociological Association have been announced in Washington, DC. One of the papers recognised is a publication by Benjamin Lind, HSE Faculty of Sociology associate professor.

An international conference  entitled ‘Law in the Digital Era’ recently took place at the Higher School of Economics. Irina Bogdanovskaya, head of the HSE Laboratory of Information Law, told us about the results of the conference.

On May 17^th a presentation of the book ‘Russian Tide’ by John Pepper, former director of Procter & Gamble, took place at the HSE.

Some international participants of the XIII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development told us about their research and shared their views on the global economy.

On April 4^th the second plenary session of the 13^th April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development took place at the HSE Cultural Center.

On April 3^rd, 2012, Justin Yifu Lin, Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of the World Bank, gave an honorary lecture at the HSE as part of the XIII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development.
